The College of Engineering organizes a workshop to approve the document of the cybersecurity program in accordance with the National Academic Reference Standards NARS

 The College of Engineering and Information Technology and the Center for Development and Quality Assurance at the university organized today, Thursday morning, a workshop to review and develop the document of the information security program to cybersecurity in accordance with the National Academic Reference Standards NARS, in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Engineering, Dr. Ibrahim Farea, and the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi.

 

 During the opening of the workshop, the university president, Dr. Nasser Al-Moufari, indicated that the university's endeavor to amend the title to cyber security comes from its strategy in the continuous development of programs, and the pursuit of providing qualitative specializations in accordance with the requirements of the local, regional and global labor market, and the university's awareness of the importance of keeping pace with digital transformation, and achieving Leadership in the technological field.

 

 Dr. Nasser Al-Moufari stressed the university's keenness to complete all requirements to amend the title from information security to cyber security, in accordance with the standards and requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, and the academic and national reference standards NARS.

 

 The Dean of Quality, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, explained the importance of the workshop, its objectives and agenda. For his part, Dr. Jamil Rashid, Head of the Information Security Department, reviewed the axes of the program description document, strategic directions, academic content, graduate specifications, evaluation methods, learning outcomes, study plan, and similar programs at the local, regional and international levels.

 

 At the end of the workshop, the program document was approved, taking into account the observations and suggestions made by the participants during the workshop to improve it, and recommending the activation of the program this year.

 

 A number of experts in the field of cybersecurity participated in the workshop, in addition to a number of faculty members and students in the College of Engineering, and representatives of the labor market.
