The activities of the first scientific conference on quality kicked off today, Wednesday, at Sheikh Jaber Hall at the College of Medicine, under the slogan “Quality is the way to a knowledge society,” which was organized by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at Sana’a University, with golden sponsorship and participation from the Emirates International University. The conference, in which a number of public and private universities also participated, witnessed a wide academic and official presence. A number of speeches were delivered at the opening event, most notably the President of the Conference, the President of Sana’a University, the Vice President of the Conference, the Director General of the Quality Development Center, a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and a number of other words within the framework of the event program. The two-day conference will discuss a number of research presented and distributed according to themes: “University education in light of quality standards and academic accreditation, the role of universities in building a knowledge society in Yemen, the outputs of academic programs and the extent to which they meet the needs of development and the labor market, quality standards in scientific and research centers, and the impact of academic development.” and quality standards on innovation and scientific creativity. For his part, the President of the UAE University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, affirmed in a press statement the belief and adoption of the brother, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Sultan Al-Shaya, for standards of quality and academic accreditation, and the keenness of the Emirates International University to contribute to the sponsorship, support and participation of such conferences aimed at in line with the mission and objectives of the university aimed at raising the level of higher education. The President of the University indicated that the convening of the conference provided the appropriate environment for researchers to present their scientific products, exchange information and experiences, and follow up developments in the world of quality and employ them for the benefit of society.
