Today, Thursday at Sana’a University, the activities of the first scientific conference on quality, held under the slogan “Quality is the way to a knowledge society,” was organized by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at Sana’a University, with golden sponsorship and participation from the Emirates International University. The conference, which opened yesterday, Wednesday, reviewed 27 scientific researches with the attendance and participation of 500 researchers from academics and stakeholders from various Yemeni public and private universities, with the aim of spreading a culture of development and quality in academic performance, enhancing the role of universities in building a knowledge society, achieving sustainable development and meeting the needs of the market. the work. On its second day, the conference discussed 19 scientific research in five working sessions. The first session, chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shuaibi, presented four scientific research under the axis of university education in light of quality standards and academic accreditation. The second session, which focused on the role of universities in building a knowledge society in Yemen, headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, discussed four scientific researches. The third session, headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Bakhiti, discussed four scientific researches that focused on the outputs of academic programs and the extent to which they meet the needs of development and the labor market. The fourth session, chaired by Dr. Muhammad Al-Bakhiti, reviewed Dr. Amal El Mujahid has four scientific researches. The fifth session, chaired by Dr. Saleh Bahaj, focused on academic development and quality assurance experiences in a number of public and private universities within the framework of the impact of academic development and quality standards on innovation and scientific creativity. Participants in the conference pointed to the need to benefit from the expertise and experiences of the world's advanced universities in the field of quality assurance of higher education and the use of information and communication technology to activate their role in community service. The participants stressed the need to pay attention to ensuring the quality of education and activating it in higher education institutions and the importance of completing the establishment and activation of quality centers and units in educational institutions and the selection of appropriate leaders for them. The final statement issued by the participants in the conference called on higher education institutions to adopt the knowledge economy project by providing a technical material base, encouraging scientific research, allocating budgets to meet the needs of scientific research at the national level, and linking higher education institutions with modern information sources at the regional and international levels. The statement called for benefiting from the networking project of the Ministry of Higher Education, strengthening the partnership between universities and research centers, and activating the role of universities and research and scientific centers in settling their services by creating service marketing and using research and innovations as a source of funding by creating a partnership between higher education institutions and public and private sector institutions. The statement also called on educational institutions to enhance their capacity to build a knowledge society, reduce the difficulties facing universities, produce and employ knowledge, develop scientific research centers in Yemeni universities in line with modern scientific developments, and activate the coordination unit that links the three ministries of public, higher, and vocational education to ensure the quality of education and the independence of the Academic Accreditation Council. At the conclusion of the conference, researchers and academics participating in the conference were honored, as well as the supporting bodies.
