Discussing graduation projects for students of the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the university

In the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Najib Al-Kumaim, the Vice-President of the University, Dr. Abdullah Farea Al-Azazi, the Advisor to the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Hamdan Al-Shami, and the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Sinan Ghallab, the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the University discussed the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, graduation projects for the department’s students. The student groups, which were divided into eight groups, presented their project entitled: The Impact of Exchange Rate Fluctuations on the Trade Balance in Yemen, presented by students Alaa Saleh Al-Fadhli, Iman Ahmed Al-Ammari, Marwa Mansour Ali Al-Muznai, and supervised by Dr. Majid Al-Dhali. The aim of the research is to study the impact of fluctuations in the exchange rate of foreign currencies on the Yemeni trade balance and the role of these fluctuations on the weakness of the economy and the lack of support provided on the role of commercial banks in supporting the economy. The second group presented its project under the title: Risk Management of Banking Operations in Islamic and Conventional Banks, presented by students Iman Saleh Al-Ansi, Afaf Abdul-Ghani Al-Hamidi and Kholoud Abdul-Malik Mutahar, under the supervision of Dr. Wael Siddik. The research focused on studying financial institutions and their role as a link in society and explaining the risks that could affect conventional and Islamic banks and comparing them. The third group presented its project entitled: Liquidity Risks and its Impact on the Performance of Commercial Banks, presented by students Bilal Al-Jaadi, Saja Mukhtar Al-Qubati, Sundus Khaled Rase’, Sarah Lutf, and supervised by Dr. Nabil Al-Alfi. The research provided a description of the liquidity risks and their impact on the general performance of Yemeni commercial banks and the factors of success and failure in achieving economic growth in the Yemeni commercial sector. The fourth group presented its project entitled: The Role of Banks in Financing Small and Medium Enterprises in Yemen, which was presented by students Ibtisam Abdul-Malik Hassan Ashish, Anwar Yahya Yahya Al-Siyaghi, Lamis Ibrahim Muhammad Hajar, Wafaa Abdul-Salam Al-Nahari, Maysoon Yahya Al-Mahaqri, and supervised by Dr. Majid Al-Dulai. The research dealt with the knowledge of the role of banks and small and medium enterprises in the Yemeni economy and the positive role they represent in supporting small enterprises in the development of the economy. The fifth group presented its project entitled: Central Bank Control and its Impact on Bank Risks, presented by students Hadeel Dhaifallah Al-Mahfadi, Yusra Muhammad Ali Al-Qulaisi, the unit of Qaid Al-Qadimi and Umm Al-Latif Nasser Muhammad Al-Yari, and the supervision of Dr. Mutahar Al-Sadmi. The sixth group presented its project entitled: Strategic Management and Performance Development in Islamic Banks, presented by the students: Saba Ali Muhammad Al-Arar, Siham Abdul-Qadir Al-Zubayri and Manal Abdul-Kafi Sanad, and supervised by Dr. Mutahar Al-Sadmi. The seventh group presented its project entitled: The role of internal control on the performance of risk management in commercial banks, submitted by students Ammar Abdo Saeed Al-Majidi and Ahmed Abdullah Kardash, and supervised by Dr. Mutahar Al-Sadmi. The eighth group presented its project entitled: The Role of Internal Control in Yemeni Commercial Banks, presented by the students Ahmed Abdullah Kardash and Ammar Abdo Al-Majid, and supervised by Dr. Mutahar Al-Sadmi. The discussion committee was composed of Dr. Akram Ali Othman, Dr. Mohsen Babaki, Dr. Khaled Al-Matari, Dr. Nabil Al-Olfi, Dr. Fouad Sharhan, Dr. Hamdan Al-Shami and Dr. Sinan Ghallab. All the submitted projects won the approval of the supervisors and attendees during the discussion, and the projects presented an outstanding level for all students in the department, which reflects the university’s level in providing qualitative education to its students and the practical and field training that students receive during their studies at the university. The discussion was attended by a number of faculty members and their assistants, male and female students from various university departments.
