Today, Wednesday, the third edition of the Emirates University International Football Championship 2018, which was held at Al Wahda Club Stadium - Sana’a, during the period from December 15, 2018 to January 9, 2019, and gathered 42 student teams from various disciplines, departments and colleges of the university. The final match brought together the third level oil and gas engineering teams with the second level clinical pharmacy team, where the third level oil and gas team won the League Cup after defeating the clinical pharmacy team with a goal to none. In honor of this occasion, a celebration was held at Al Wahda Stadium, during which the first-placed team was honored with the championship cup and gold medals, the second and third level were honored with silver and gold medals, and the league's organizing committee was honored. The winning teams were honored in the presence of University President Dr. Najeeb Al-Kamim, Vice President Dr. Abdullah Al-Azazi, Dean of the College of Management Dr. Sinan Ghallab, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Hamdan Al-Shami, Head of the Pharmacy Department, Dr. Mukhtar Al-Garafi, Head of the Oil and Gas Department, Dr. Ibrahim Farea Al-Qubati, Head of the Mechatronics Department, Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, and a number of Among the faculty members and their assistants at the university, and the students of the university who witnessed the match as well. It should be noted that the university’s football championship is one of the sports activities that the university is keen to implement in addition to other scientific and various activities in order to employ the students’ abilities and invest their time in a way that will benefit them and provide them with many opportunities to develop and refine their talents and satisfy their diverse hobbies.
