Graduation project for the second group for students of the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Oil and Gas, fourth level: Project Title: The impact of the instability of the well on the operation of the oil wells ceremony. Impact of wellbore instability on the drilling performance Conclusion: This project dealt with determining the reasons for the occurrence of the problem of instability of the oil well, which causes many problems during the drilling process, and this problem is considered one of the biggest problems that engineers face. base mud) is the main cause of this problem, which leads to saturation of the layer with water, which leads to its swelling and then demolishes the wall of the well, and this causes an obstruction to the drilling pipe during movement. Shale layers are affected by the water-based drilling fluid. This project focuses on studying and determining the factors that cause this problem in the study area, which was for several reasons, the most important of which is the length of the section that is drilled with the mentioned drilling fluid, which allows the layer a longer time to saturate with water. This project also details all the factors that must be controlled to solve the problem when it occurs, as well as ways to prevent its occurrence when drilling new wells.
