Today, Monday, the Emirates International University (EU) honored its students from the Mechatronics Department who won the Yemeni Innovator Competition, Season 2, 2020, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. During the honoring, the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, welcomed the attendees and praised the excellence achieved by the students of the Mechatronics Engineering Department, who won the Yemeni Innovator Competition, season 2, 2020. The President of the University stressed the support of the University, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Obaid Al-Shaya, to all his creative students in all the faculties and specializations of the University, and their support in their innovative projects that aim to provide practical solutions to societal problems. Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim indicated that the university's distinguished outputs are a result of the university embracing the best specialized cadres in the university's faculties and specializations, as well as having quality programs updated according to national and international standards. For his part, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, congratulated the honored students and urged their colleagues to follow the example of the honored students through the distinguished educational attainment that qualifies them to present innovative and creative projects and benefit from the support provided by the university to its distinguished and outstanding students in various fields of study. The honoring came during the event organized by the university today, Monday, to receive the new students in the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the university. The winning students were honored with certificates of appreciation, as well as the amount of the financial prize allocated to the winning projects, as well as the academic staff who supervised those projects were honored with the university shield. It is noteworthy that the winning project is a system that manages, organizes, controls and monitors three energy sources (general electricity, electric generator, solar energy). The system contains three operating modes through which energy sources are organized according to the user's choice of the specific mode. The system operates with high quality industrial controls, little or especially rare maintenance, and operates under harsh and difficult conditions. The system also contains a HMI monitor and control screen that facilitates monitoring of the system’s work, and the system features a network connection to monitor and manage the system remotely (SMS, WEB.)
