The Board of Trustees of the Emirates International University held its second meeting for the year 2019-2020 today, Wednesday, headed by the Chairman of the Council, Professor Sultan bin Obaid Al-Shaya, and in the presence of the members of the Council, in order to determine the level of academic and administrative development witnessed by the university in accordance with its 2025 strategy. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Sultan Al-Shaya, opened the meeting through the visual communication technology, with a speech in which he welcomed the members of the Board of Trustees, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the members of the Board, the presidency of the university, the general secretariat and all university employees for the efforts that contributed to the development of the university and the achievement of many distinguished achievements in the academic aspects and administration according to the university’s 2025 strategy. He said, "The university's board of trustees is very happy with the distinguished academic level that the university has reached, and is proud of the academic achievements." He added: "I have blessed all the hands that have worked hard to see the remarkable development achieved by the university in recent years, to remain a prominent academic teacher that includes all the people of Yemen, and contribute to serving the development efforts in this dear country, according to the partnership and good relations with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its affiliated centers. her and the relevant authorities. For his part, the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, expressed his thanks and appreciation on behalf of the University Council for the presidency of the Board of Trustees and the members of the Council, which provides all support for the academic development of the University to be among the most prestigious universities locally and regionally. The university’s 2025 strategy and the policies and directions of the Board of Trustees, in a way that provides a qualitative and distinct education for our students, and prepares them to be future leaders, each in his field of specialization, to serve our beloved country and the people of society.” After approving the minutes of the previous meeting, the council listened to the annual report submitted by the university president for the previous academic year, regarding the activation and evaluation of the plan for the academic year 2019-2020, according to the university’s strategy 2025. With regard to the academic aspect, the Council approved the development policy for all programs and specializations in accordance with national and international accreditation standards and to ensure that all requirements are completed in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry and the Academic Accreditation Council. What has been done regarding the requirements of graduate programs was reviewed, as well as activating the role of colleges and departments councils and heads of departments. As well as with regard to the organizational structure of the Quality Center and its activation in accordance with the decisions of the Ministry, and its approval by the Board of Trustees. I also reviewed the plan in the field of internal process automation and what was reached in this area and approved by the Council. The plan for the year 2020-2021 was reviewed according to the university's strategy 2025. The president of the university gave a detailed explanation to the council about the future development aspects that came in response to the academic development, and the other developmental aspects under implementation by the university council, which will constitute a qualitative addition to the distinguished academic process pursued by the university. For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, Vice President of the University, reviewed what has been done regarding the completion of the development of regulations in all aspects, approving the estimated budget, tuition fees, grants, discounts, absorptive capacity, and expansion of the infrastructure. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees concluded the meeting with thanks and appreciation to the members of the Council, stressing the continuation of efforts and attention to training and practical application, and stressing the full support of the Council for the developmental aspects in order to implement all plans at the same pace as before.
