Today, Saturday, the Emirates International University and the University Student Forum organized a commemorative event for the anniversary of the martyr and honoring the families of the martyrs and the winners of the cultural competition, and inaugurated the exhibition of pictures and models, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, and the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim. At the opening of the event, the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kamim, delivered a speech on the occasion in which he welcomed all the attendees, noting that the martyr’s anniversary is a great and important station to commemorate the martyrs. The president of the university stressed that commemorating this anniversary is one of the most important occasions with its significance, pointing to the status and position of the martyrs in society, calling for the need to touch the needs and feelings of the families of the martyrs on this great occasion, an embodiment of the values ​​and principles for which the martyrs sacrificed. For his part, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Yahya Sharaf Al-Din, affirmed that promoting the culture of jihad and martyrdom is enough to thwart the conspiracies and schemes of the enemies. He considered arming himself with science and knowledge as one of the fronts of confrontation, as this aspect represents the development of students' abilities and skills. Pointing out the importance of recalling the sacrifices of the martyrs and emphasizing the continuation of their project and proceeding on their path until victory is achieved. The Deputy Minister praised the role of the UAE University, which is considered the forerunner in interaction in the scientific and educational field, community participation, and the establishment of national activities to strengthen the faith identity, commemorate the Prophet's birthday, commemorate the annual martyr's memory, and recall their greatness and sacrifices they made with their blood in order to defend the sovereignty and independence of the nation. The ceremony was attended by a number of the families of the martyrs from the university students, as well as a number of leaders of higher education and deans of the faculties, Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahali, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, the Registrar General of the University, Mr. Marwan Al-Zari, the official of private universities, Engineer Abdul Hakim Shamsan, and the Deputy Student Unit Officer, Mr. Abdul-Malik Wajih Al-Din, heads of departments, Secretary-General of the University Student Forum at the university, Engineer Osama Saleh Hizam, and a number of university staff from various units and departments, a group of male and female students from different specializations of the university. The ceremony included the presentation of artistic links and a documentary reportage entitled "Our Great Martyrs", followed by honoring the families and relatives of the martyrs from among the university's employees with sums of money and certificates of appreciation, as well as honoring the winners of the cultural competition on the same occasion with financial prizes and certificates of appreciation. The university also honored the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Martyrs Foundation with the university shield for their active role in coordinating and participating in the martyr’s anniversary and caring for the families of the martyrs, followed by the opening of the exhibition of pictures and models of the martyrs from among the university’s affiliates.
