The President of the University reviews the progress of providing medical services to patients in the free clinics of the Faculty of Dentistry at the university

The President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, accompanied by the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Sadiq Abdel-Mughni, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shami, the Head of the Dental Department, Dr. Abdel-Qader Zabara, and the Director of Academic Affairs, Professor Ibtisam Al-Majmar, briefed today, Thursday, the progress of Providing medical services to patients who frequent the free clinics of the College of Dentistry at the university. During the visit, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, the president of the university, considered that allocating the clinics of the College of Dentistry as free educational and treatment centers for members of the community - with some symbolic fees for some cases - comes within the framework of the university's responsibility to serve the community. Achieving the benefit between the two parties of the relationship, the student and the patient, from two aspects, the first: the actual practice of the students on cases, and the second: the patients receiving free treatment. He stressed the university's keenness to link theoretical education with applied education in accordance with the latest international scientific and quality standards. It is worth noting that the free clinics designated for clinical training for students of the fourth and fifth levels and students of excellence work to receive patients from different groups of society who receive care within dental clinics. The therapeutic aspects include: various dental examinations, dental treatments, fillings, root treatments, and orthodontics Removable teeth for children, fixed dentures (crowns and bridges) and removable dentures (partial and complete dentures), in addition to surgical treatments (extraction and erection of teeth and minor operations inside the mouth). The free clinics, the provision of medical services and training are supervised by an academic staff specialized in all fields from the College of Dentistry, so that the doctor follows up with the student every step of the treatment and ensures the safety of the practical application of the theoretical aspects studied in the classrooms, as well as an assistant technical staff of teaching assistants and technicians. All the tools used in the clinics are sterilized according to the latest sterilization methods and the latest devices provided by the university, as well as following the precautionary and preventive measures inside the clinics. The university’s dental clinics contain 70 chairs, in addition to various modern diagnostic methods through devices and equipment equipped for this purpose, in addition to benefiting from all the laboratories of the Faculty of Dentistry.
