The Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences organized a scientific visit, Thursday morning, for the second batch of students of the third-level department to the Sheba Pharma Pharmaceutical Factory. In the presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Hashemi, a member of the faculty in the department.

During the visit, the students got acquainted with the various departments and units "production and control, laboratories, inspection, quality, stores, machinery and manufacturing devices, and analysis and quality control devices" and other units and manufacturing departments of the company. And identifying the steps and stages of drug manufacturing, starting with the materials entering stores and ending with their exit as a final product.

The students listened to an explanation from the specialized and concerned cadre in the various departments about the mechanism of work in each department, the flow of production and development work at the factory level, the divisions, production lines, standards, quality and technology used in all departments and the mechanism of control, verification and sterilization, as well as storage and handling of sensitive materials. And at the level of drug production and on the items that the company is now producing, which exceed 240 items in various fields.

The visit comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to harmonize the theoretical and practical aspects of the relevant specialized bodies, in order to provide students with more knowledge and practical experience and raise the level of their scientific and practical skills.
