 The Emirates International University, represented by the University’s President, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, the University’s Secretary-General, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, and a number of academic staff, participated in the opening event of the fourth scientific conference, “Artificial Intelligence and Quality Assurance of Higher Education,” which began its work today, Tuesday, in Sana’a, and which is organized by the Ministry of Education. Higher Education represented by the Center for Information Technology in Higher Education in partnership with the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance over two days.

 

 At the opening of the conference, a number of speeches were delivered by the Prime Minister of the caretaker government, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the caretaker government - the President of the Conference, Mr. Hussein Hazeb, the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, and the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center - Chairman of the Organizational Committee, Dr. Fouad Abdel Razzaq, and the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Muhammad Dhaifullah.

 

 With the participation of 700 from various Yemeni universities, the conference discusses about 50 research and working papers, presented by experts and researchers in artificial intelligence from Yemen and Arab and foreign countries, in which they address the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence technology and their relationship to the quality of higher education.

 

 The first session of the conference, headed by Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, discussed four research papers and scientific papers on smart governance, an introduction to the development of Yemeni universities, artificial intelligence, a new revolution in the management of the educational system and universities, and a proposed vision for developing the administrative system in higher education in light of artificial intelligence applications.

 

 The second session, headed by Dr. Maher Al-Sanabani, reviewed four scientific papers on the reality of digital transformation and artificial intelligence technology in higher education institutions, the role of artificial intelligence technologies in developing university functions, geospatial artificial intelligence and satellite images and their applications to agriculture in Yemen, along with a vision for the application of artificial intelligence. In Yemeni universities.

 

 The third and fourth sessions, virtually, dealt with working papers that focused on the impact of electronic training on the development of human competencies, the requirements for investing artificial intelligence in open educational resources for higher education, the use of artificial intelligence technology in libraries and information facilities, the reality of the use of artificial intelligence by graduate students at Ibb University, and the legal challenges. The Yemeni legislator has decided to employ artificial intelligence in higher education institutions.

 

 It is worth noting that a staff from the UAE University participated in chairing and managing a number of scientific sessions and presenting research papers during the conference sessions.
