 Today, Thursday, in conjunction with World Quality Day, November 9, the Center for Development and Quality Assurance at the Emirates International University organized a training workshop for faculty members on teaching strategies and assessment based on learning outcomes, “the second phase,” in the presence of the university’s president, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, and the university’s vice president. Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dr. Anwar Masoud, a member of the Accreditation Council, the deans of the colleges, and a number of department heads and faculty members in the various colleges of the university.

 

 During the opening of the workshop, the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, welcomed the participants, pointing out that this workshop comes within the framework of the university’s plan in the field of spreading and enhancing the culture of quality, with the aim of raising the efficiency and skills of the teaching staff at the university, in order to achieve the graduation of qualified cadres armed with the knowledge, knowledge and skills necessary to compete in Local and regional labor market.

 

 The training workshop, which was implemented by the trainer, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif Al-Sharjabi, an expert in leadership and measurement of academic programs, aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the participants in the field of teaching strategies based on learning outcomes, designing a system for measuring and evaluating various learning outcomes, and how to design and implement course measurement plans.

 

 The training workshop also aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to use the results and outputs of the measurement and evaluation system for the efficiency of educational outcomes and developing the educational process.

 

 While Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, explained the course report, which is considered one of the methods of measuring and evaluating the quality of the educational process by faculty members.

 

 The training workshop, which targeted faculty members in various colleges of the university in addition to the staff of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, included practical applications carried out by the participants by distributing them into mini-groups to apply to various models of evaluation and measurement of learning outcomes in accordance with the standards, designs and classifications followed in this aspect. The workshop produced a set of recommendations aimed at enhancing the university’s culture of quality and consolidating the university’s experience in this field.

 

 At the conclusion of the training workshop, the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Al-Mofari, along with the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Hanash, and the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Professor Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, honored the trainer, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif Al-Sharjabi, with a certificate of thanks and appreciation for the efforts he made during the training workshop for the university’s teaching staff.
