 The university's swimming team participated in the second swimming championship organized by the Ministry of Higher Education on Tuesday for Yemeni university students, coinciding with our people's celebrations of the Prophet's birthday in 1445 AH and the holidays of the Yemeni revolution.

 About 200 contestants from 30 public and private universities in the secretariat and a number of governorates competed in the tournament that was held at the Recreation Club as part of the competitive and sports competitions project for university students and within the Ministry’s National Vision activities and projects.

 At the inauguration of the tournament, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for the Educational Affairs Sector, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Qanis, confirmed that this tournament, in its second session, comes within the framework of the national vision projects to enhance and consolidate faith identity among students through sports, scientific and cultural activities that are held for the first time at the level of Yemeni universities.

 He stressed the Ministry's keenness to activate these activities to develop students' mental and physical abilities on the basis of a healthy mind in a healthy body.

 Two speeches were also delivered at the inauguration by the Directors of Student Activities at the Ministry, Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Dahhak, and the private education institutions, Mr. Fouad Al-Hadda, indicating that the second swimming championship comes within the framework of the scientific, cultural, and sports competitions project organized by the Ministry.

 They confirmed that the swimming championship takes place within one day of qualifying among the participants in the 25-meter freestyle swimming, and then the second and third stage qualifiers until the final group is reached and the winners are announced.

 The Emirates International University is keen to provide its students with the opportunity to participate in various student activities, whether inside or outside the university, with the aim of honing their skills and developing their abilities in various fields.
