 The Emirates International University participated in the launch of the second poetry competition and festival for university students, which was launched today in Sana'a, organized by the Educational Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, within the framework of the competitive competitions project under the slogan "You are not alone."

 

 80 male and female poets from 30 public and private universities are competing in the three-day competition within the framework of the Cultural, Scientific and Sports Competitive Competitions Project and within the National Vision Projects.

 

 At the opening, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the caretaker government, Mr. Hussein Ali Hazeb, confirmed that the festival aims to strengthen the faith identity and moral values of students and interest in the Palestinian cause and national issues, as well as strengthening the role of students and universities in defending Palestine by various means.

 

 He pointed to the role of poetry in enhancing communication and exchanging expertise and experiences between various universities, discovering the talents of poets, and working to develop their skills and abilities, in addition to its importance in developing the linguistic and literary wealth of students participating in the competition.

 

 At the event, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, the Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Sector, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Qanis, confirmed that student activities are one of the important roles that universities play with the aim of bringing about spiritual, physical and environmental changes, getting to know each other, discovering and refining talents, in addition to the educational process. .

 

 He pointed out the importance of these activities at the university level as they contribute to the development of young people culturally, socially and scientifically to contribute to building nations and societies and achieving comprehensive development.

 

 Meanwhile, the Director-General of Activities and Private Education at the Ministry, Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Dahhak and Mr. Fouad Al-Hadaa, explained that student activities and cultural competitions contribute to strengthening partnership with society and strengthening social, cultural and scientific ties between universities.

 

 The event, which was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for the Planning Sector, Dr. Ilham Al-Sanabani, the Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Salawi, and the Director of Activities at the UAE University, Ms. Sahar Al-Kahlani, and a wide participation from various universities, included artistic performances and artistic poems, followed by listening to examples of the festival’s participants.
