 Today, Tuesday, the Committee for Preparing a Regulation for Encouraging and Supporting Scientific Publishing for Faculty Members and Their Assistants at the University held its first meeting for the academic year 2023-2024, headed by Professor Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of Committee members: Dr. Fouad Hanash, Secretary-General of the University, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Dr. Ibrahim Farea, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahali, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Dr. Abeer Sharaf Al-Din, representative of the College of Dentistry, and Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, Head of the Department of International Business Administration.

 The meeting focused on a proposed regulation for supporting and encouraging scientific publishing presented by the Chairman of the Committee, which includes the rules and conditions for the areas of publishing and support, supporting the publication of scientific research in the university journal and regional and international journals, discussing the mechanism for evaluating research submitted for publication, and other aspects included in the regulation.

 During the meeting, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Chairman of the Committee - Dean of the University’s Development and Quality Assurance Center, indicated that the university attaches great importance to supporting scientific research, as it is the university’s second mission and one of the most important indicators of the quality of the educational process. He stressed the importance of scientific publishing in raising the university’s level in international rankings, noting that the committee is working to develop evaluation and support standards for scientific publishing, ensuring that faculty members and their assistants are encouraged to publish their research in peer-reviewed international journals and the university’s scientific journal.
