Emirates International University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences has received international recognition that enables university students to obtain ECFMG degrees, which offers a variety of programs for international physicians and other members of the international medical education and regulatory communities. The ECFMG certification is the standard for evaluating the qualifications of physicians before they enter medical education to practice the profession and enroll in study or graduate programs in the United States and the world. The ECFMG certification for directors of accredited residency and fellowship programs confirms that medical graduates from accredited universities have met the minimum eligibility criteria. The ECFMG Certification Verification Service provides real-time primary source verification of ECFMG certification status for international medical graduates and ECFMG's CVS provides this verification to US entities that rely on the ECFMG certification to assess the qualifications of international physicians. These entities include accrediting agencies, accredited residency programs, state medical licensing boards, and other organizations, such as hospitals and HMOs. ECFMG also provides programs to the medical education community valuable services to international medical schools and their alumni, and promotes quality in medical education worldwide. Through the GEMx sm program, ECFMG builds a global partnership, and supports regional partnerships, for international educational exchange in medicine and the health professions. In the previous year, the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Emirates International University was recognized in the Global Directory of Medical Colleges, which is published as a collaboration between the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER).
