 The Department of Architectural Engineering at the University’s College of Engineering and Information Technology discussed Monday morning scientific projects for third-level students in the urban design subject, in the presence of the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, the Secretary-General of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Muhammad Dhaifullah, and the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed. Al-Baadani, the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ibrahim Farea.

 

 The students presented their projects that addressed solutions to urban planning challenges in the capital secretariat, including projects to improve infrastructure, enhance security and safety, and provide public and recreational facilities and green spaces.

 

 The scientific projects presented by the four student groups were distinguished, as they included creative designs of high artistic value for the rehabilitation of the Faj Attan roundabout and the Haddah Al-Madina roundabout. Under the supervision of Professor Samira Al-Shaoush, professor of the course, and Eng. Nada Al-Saruri.

 

 The Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, praised the students’ efforts and interest in urban design, which is considered one of the most important fields of architecture. He urged them to continue their excellence and make more efforts to contribute to the development and improvement of Yemeni cities.

 

 The Mayor of the Capital also praised the scientific level of the submitted projects, stressing that they reflect the students’ abilities to think in engineering and creativity, and the distinguished level of education provided by the university.

 

 For his part, the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Al-Mofari, praised the presence of the Mayor of the Capital and the Secretary-General of the Academic Accreditation Council for the scientific discussion, stressing that this reflects the great interest that the Municipality of the Capital and the relevant authorities pay to the educational sector.

 

 Dr. Nasser Al-Mofari explained that the university is keen to prepare qualified engineering cadres capable of contributing to national development.

 

 The university president praised the students’ efforts in preparing their projects, stressing the importance of these projects in providing civilized solutions for city facades and contributing to community service.

 

 The students praised the presence of the Mayor of the Capital to discuss their scientific projects, stressing the importance of this presence in motivating them to further innovate.

 

 The discussion was also attended by the Director of Projects in the Capital Municipality, Abu Talib, the Director of Academic Affairs, Ms. Ibtisam Al-Mujmar, and a number of faculty members and their assistants in the department.
