 The President of the University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofari, and the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, were briefed this Saturday morning on the progress of providing medical services to patients attending the free clinics of the University’s College of Dentistry, accompanied by the Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, and the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shami, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Abdul Qadir Zabara, and a number of college staff, and the Secretary General of the University Student Forum, Engineer Osama Saleh Hizam.

 

 During the visit, Dr. Nasser Al-Mofari, President of the University, considered that the university’s allocation of the College of Dentistry’s clinics as free therapeutic educational centers for members of the community - with some nominal fees for some cases - comes within the framework of the university’s responsibility to serve the community, and achieve benefit between the two parties to the relationship, the student and the patient, in two aspects: the first. The second: the students’ realistic practice of cases, and the second: patients receiving free treatment, stressing the university’s keenness to link theoretical education with applied education in accordance with the latest international scientific standards and quality standards.

 

 It should be noted that the free clinics designated for clinical training for fourth and fifth level students and internship students work to receive medical cases from various segments of society who receive care within dental clinics. The therapeutic aspects include: various dental examinations, dental disease treatments, fillings, root canal treatment, and orthodontics. Removable teeth for children, fixed dentures (crowns and bridges) and removable dentures (partial and complete dentures), in addition to surgical treatments (extraction and installation of teeth and minor operations inside the mouth).

 

 The free clinics and the provision of medical services and training are supervised by an academic staff specialized in all fields from the College of Dentistry, so that the doctor follows up with the student every step of the treatment and ensures the integrity of the practical application of the theoretical aspects that have been studied in the classrooms, as well as an assistant technical staff of teaching assistants and technicians. Dentistry. All tools used in the clinics are sterilized according to the latest sterilization methods and the latest devices provided by the university, as well as following precautionary and preventive measures inside the clinics.
