Yesterday, the Emirates International University celebrated the graduation of the first batch of its students from various medical, engineering and administrative faculties, numbering 255, male and female graduates, at Al Wahda Club Stadium in the capital, Sana'a. The ceremony, which was sponsored by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Roudi, Undersecretary for the Missions Sector, witnessed a wide government participation from parents and students who were filled with the stadiums of Al Wahda Club, which has a capacity of more than 3,500 people, in addition to the heavy attendance outside the stadium. In a message sent by the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, His Excellency Professor Sultan bin Obaid Al-Shaya, said, “The University is living in happy moments as it reaps the fruits of four years of giving efforts by graduating the first batch of students from this lofty academic edifice, and that the University is on the verge of a brighter future in terms of continuing to adopt the finest International standards in all academic and administrative practices and educational programs, promising the graduate students and all university students that the university will work to absorb the top students from all payments in the university according to the need, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees noted that the university will open graduate programs in the coming years after completing obtaining all licenses from the official authorities. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates International University expressed his thanks and appreciation to the graduate students and their parents, and to the university's academic and administrative staff, for their efforts to reach this important moment in the university's progress. For his part, Prof. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, Acting Vice President and Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, indicated in the speech of the preparatory committee that he delivered at the ceremony, that the graduates, with their perseverance and diligence, were able to reap the fruits that were evident today by graduating with pride. He added, "We send our thanks and appreciation from here to the graduates' fathers and mothers, who exerted their efforts alongside their children to reach this historic moment that we are proud of. He said that the university's outputs will constitute a difficult number in the labor market, and the university students will be ambassadors for the university in their scientific and practical lives. It is worth noting that the graduation ceremony, which was attended by a large gathering of the families and fans of the graduates, who was filled with it inside and outside the stadiums of Al Wahda Club in the capital, Sana’a, included a number of speeches by the university leadership, faculty members and alumni, and a number of technical paragraphs, and 14 Samsung phones were drawn as prizes to attend at the end of the day. The ceremony was followed by fireworks that lit the sky of the capital. At the end of the ceremony, the Presidency of the University, the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Deans of Colleges at the University, in addition to the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Walid Al-Ruwaishan, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Rawdi, the Minister’s advisor, Dr. Munther Ishaq, and the director of his office, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Silwi, honored the graduates with certificates of appreciation and in-kind gifts, in a joyful atmosphere.
