In the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Amin Aklan, and the Head of the Information Technology Department, Prof. Anwar Seif, groups for the third-level students of the Mechatronics Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology presented a number of projects and innovations that were assigned to them during the second semester of the Embedded Systems course. Under the supervision of Dr. Farouk Al Fahidi. Where the students presented five projects as follows: The first project is a solar energy tracking device that is used for the most appropriate and efficient exploitation of solar energy as a main source of charging electric energy. The second project is a robot model that is controlled by PS2, which can be developed to become autonomous or in military or civilian surveillance and reconnaissance applications. The third project is a smart house, which includes three mini-projects, the first is to control home appliances by wireless communication using Bluetooth, the second is a system for opening and closing the gates with a voice fingerprint, the third is management and reports of the ratio of the ground tank and upper tanks to the house, and the fourth part is smart irrigation for farm trees where irrigation is done whenever the soil needs Irrigation is determined using the soil moisture sensor. The fourth project, which is an automated garage system for vehicles and their containment, with the addition of the safety feature represented by allowing only vehicles with license plates allowed to enter. The fifth project, the smart radar scanner to explore barriers and fixed and moving objects, which can be used in a number of different military and civil applications.. The students presented their projects and ideas efficiently and effectively. For his part, the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim stressed the importance of such applied projects that link the theoretical side with practice and enhance the students’ abilities to qualify them for the labor market and compete with efficiency and competence. And all the faculty members of the college, teaching assistants, administrative and technical staff, and he also thanked the students of the college.
