The third edition of the UAE League Football League kicked off today, Saturday, at Al Wahda Club Stadium in the capital, Sanaa. The league was inaugurated in the presence of the President of the Emirates International University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Farea Al-Azazi, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, and the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Sinan Ghallab. In the opening matches, the oil and gas team, level three, competed in the opening matches with the mechatronics team, level three, and in the second match, the human medicine team, level two, and the accounting team, level two. The third level oil and gas engineering team had won a landslide victory over the third level mechatronics engineering team with a clean four. The second level accounting team defeated the second level human medicine team, with a goal for nothing. 32 student teams from different departments and levels of university faculties are participating in the league to compete for the League Cup. The implementation of the university’s football league comes within the university’s plan for extra-curricular student activities in a way that achieves the absorption of students’ energies, improve their health and physical level, and refine their skills to create a spirit of competition among them in a way that benefits them and motivates them to achieve educational attainment.
