In the presence of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hassan Abdel-Mughni, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, and the Head of the Oil and Gas Department, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Farea, the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at the university began discussing the projects of the graduate students from the department for the academic year 2018-2019. The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Hassan Abdel-Mughni, praised the efforts of the College of Engineering, which culminated in the presentation of creative projects by its students that embodied the students’ capabilities and the level of quality education they received during their studies at the university and benefited from the scientific knowledge that they had accumulated during the years of study. He pointed out that the university provides facilities that help its students improve their performance, invest their skills and energies, and graduate qualified cadres armed with science, knowledge, training and practical application, which contributes to providing society with distinguished engineering competencies. For his part, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, praised the efforts of the department's presidency and the efforts of the graduate students. He explained that the inauguration of the discussion of graduation projects for the department's students is an important step to identify the projects submitted by them that qualify the students to enter the professional stage with merit and confidence. The first project discussed was a reassessment of the petrophysical properties of some major petroleum-producing reservoirs (Sector 5 - Al-Sabateen Basin and Sector 32 - Seiyun Basin - Al-Masila). The study used the "TECLOG" program, and the petrophysical characteristics were re-evaluated according to the available data and data about the two Tasour-26S wells in block 32, as well as well No. 1 in the Victory Field, Sector 5 Jannah Hunt. The layers were re-divided for the data and records of these wells and their evaluation based on the analysis of the various records of the wells subject to analysis and the reference value accepted by the company CUT OFF VALUE. The project is supervised by Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Ghaith Al-Tayeb and implemented by the students: Hassan Ahmed Abu Suraima, Abdul Karim Taher Al-Saikal, Maram Muhammad Omar Ismail, Saleh Ali Al-Hassam, Ahmed Mutahar Al-Hada and Adam Abdul-Qawi Amer. The project presented by the students in the department was accepted and praised by the committee, which in turn praised the efforts made by the students, the distinction of their project and its touching on practical aspects. The discussion was attended by a number of department heads, academic and administrative staff at the university, students from different departments of the college, and parents of students.
