The University's College of Medicine and Health Sciences organizes a scientific day to discuss graduation research for medical students

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university organized a scientific day for students of the Department of Human Medicine, which included a presentation of graduation research, in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kamim, Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Sadiq Abdul-Mughni and Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Ghouri, Head of the Department Medical laboratories, a number of academics, administrators, and parents of the students discussing, and the discussion of graduation research for student groups continued over the course of Saturday and Sunday. The Dean of the College, Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, opened the scientific day’s event by welcoming the attendees from the university presidency, academics, administrators, students and parents, expressing thanks and appreciation to the university’s presidency, heads of medical departments and professors supervising students’ research and congratulating the students on holding the scientific day to discuss graduation research and distinguishing their research topics, stressing the importance of research provided by students. Wishing the graduates further progress in the scientific and practical aspects. The Dean of the College also indicated that the goal of the scientific day is to provide the graduate students with the opportunity to present their ideas and touches of knowledge that they acquired during the years of study, and to present their scientific research. He stressed the importance of learning the scientific research skills of the university student, in addition to the clinical skills, noting that the scientific days organized by the university to discuss graduation research are one of the most important practical aspects for the student to acquire those skills and experiences that help him during his postgraduate studies. The supervisory and discussion committees were formed from: a. Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Ghouri, Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, Dr. Muammar Badi and Dr. Ahmed Al-Shahdhi are external discussants and main supervisors of the graduation research. Where the student groups presented their research that touched on health problems and diseases such as the study of cancerous diseases, Covid 19, first aid (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), hepatitis, and obstetrics and gynecology, through visual presentations distributed on a number of important topics as follows: 1. Awareness and knowledge of human medicine students for basic life support (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) at the Emirates International University Sana'a - Yemen Principal Supervisor Dr. Muammar Badi. 2. Doctors’ knowledge, attitude and practices towards COVID19 in Sana’a-Yemen, Supervisor Dr. Muammar Badi. 3. Assessment of female university students’ awareness about breast cancer at the Emirates International University, Sana’a-Yemen, Principal Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shahdhi. 4. Prevalence of hepatitis B and C virus among dialysis patients for five regions in Yemen. Supervised by Dr. Ahmed El-Shahdy. 5. Measuring the awareness of medical department students at the Emirates International University about COVID-19, under the supervision of Dr. Muammar Badi. 6. Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Regarding Antenatal Care Among Pregnant Women in Sana'a City, Yemen Supervised by Dr. Ahmed Hammoud Al-Shahdhi. The committee commended the efforts made by the students and their supervisors in completing their research in a timely manner and the scientific value of the research that rises to the level of postgraduate research. Abstracts of research and names of student researchers will be published in separate publications at a later time.
