UAE University Organizes Scientific Symposium on the Basics of Artificial Intelligence: Introduction to Machine Learning

This morning, Wednesday, the UAE University organized, as part of the activities of the Scientific Week of the College of Engineering, a specialized scientific symposium on the Basics of Artificial Intelligence: Introduction to Machine Learning.

The symposium, presented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Qanas, addressed a number of topics, including providing an explanation of the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and its various applications in various fields, and the mechanisms of machine learning algorithms and their software tools.

It also addressed the importance of artificial intelligence and machine learning in building smart systems capable of learning from data and making decisions independently, the pivotal role that artificial intelligence will play in shaping the future of humanity, and the importance of preparing for this future by developing the necessary competencies and skills.

A variety of examples were also reviewed that illustrate how artificial intelligence is used to solve complex problems and improve daily life.

 In the opening speech of the symposium, the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Al-Mofri, stressed the importance of this event in enhancing the position of the UAE University as a leading center in the field of artificial intelligence, noting that the symposium contributes to building bridges of communication between researchers and university students to provide them with the necessary skills that enable them to excel during their university studies and the labor market. 

The symposium, which was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Sultan Al-Hijami, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department, was attended by the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Dr. Jamil Rashid, the Head of the Interior Design Department, Dr. Ahmed Yafaa, the Head of the Training and Rehabilitation Center, Eng. Fathi Salman, Eng. Mohammed Al-Banna, the Information Systems Unit, and Eng. Osama Hazam, the Activities Officer.
